Draft Comic Page Plans:
Initially, when I started working on my final major project, I struggled to mentally map out the order and structure of my comic. To resolve this issue, and to help with my creating process, I wanted to create a physical paper plan version of my comic. By doing this, I can move and easily change features of my comic book before digitally making the final version. I prefer testing and failing with an approach earlier on in a project to learn, develop and improve my work, rather than discovering issues later on when adapting work is more difficult.
Before creating a digital comic page, I would mock up a draft version of the page composition to use it as an outline. Drafting up pages mainly helped me envision the final outcome of the page without spending too much time on creating a finished piece. Allowing for improvements if features have to be tweaked or changed. This process I found to be crucial, as I could make sure that the composition of each comic panel sat well with the rest of the page, effectively portraying the narrative along side the visuals.
To display the order of my planned comic pages, I have attached them in the layout order of my final major project.
